Rich and Moody Classic Styled Shoot at The Forager in San Jose, California

Excited to share more images from this shoot! I blogged about one of the three vignettes from this monster of a styled shoot last month and you can see it here.

The real couple showcased in this vignette are Jeff and Jessica.  Two very dear friends of mine that I go wayyy back with. I have known them both since I think I was 13?  We were in the same youth groups, church, high school, same group of friends, and Jess and I were housemates in our first little house and also went to college together and lived in the same hall. AND Jess was a bridesmaid in my wedding, love her!  When I do styled shoots, I love to try to use my friends as models whenever possible (why not when you have endless pretty friends for options, right???)

My favorite aspect about this shoot has to go straight to the dress. I met Christina of Black Lotus Clothing at an industry event; she had an impressive set up and even more impressive line of beautiful gowns. If you know me, you know I am all about texture--can't get enough of unique textures and materials, and miss C has all the texture and style and funk I could ever want in a dress designer. Seriously LOVE her stuff and just wish she could design my closet.  This particular gown is a soft light gold with handmade metallic applicques and shoulder chain things and just SO MUCH DETAIL that I can't even say. So needless to say, this stunner of a dress stole this shoot hands down. In love with it in every way.

Here's a little bit more about the background of the shoot in its entirety that I shared on the other vignette's blog: The inspiration behind this styled shoot started with some paintings and evolved after I fell in love with this new venue, The SJ Forager.  Exposed brick walls, string lighting, a concrete bar serving coffee and espresso drinks and alcoholic beverages, delicious baked goods and small plates.  It is wide open, industrial and just has the best vibe!  When you have a venue with such a cool look, that means you can only find other vendors with the same easy aesthetic. Of course, my friends at Whittaker Portraits were at the top of my list, as was this amazing new cinematographer Jake C Dahm. Dang he has some serious talent. My friend Eleanor of Wallflower Design just owned the florals and delivered museum-worthy arrangements.  And Hensley Event Resources has the most impressive and unique tabletop rental inventory! I had never heard of them until Blueprint Studios recommend we use them for tabletop while they supplied the furniture.  All that paired with all the amazing companies who gave their beautiful products for the details, and all artwork  by myself and one of our talented coordinators Kandis Harvey, gave us one knockout of a shoot with plenty of beautiful new content.  We shot three separate inspiring vignettes and couples this day and 2 have been picked up by several blogs thus far.
